Friends of Gatineau Park offers activities dedicated to English- and French-speaking schools in the Gatineau-Ottawa region.
We offer outdoor activities to complement your school programs, based on knowledge of the Park, its flora and fauna, its activities and the rules that help us protect this beautiful biodiversity.

ACTIVITY INFORMATION
1) Deciduous trees identification(2h activity)
You'll learn to recognize the Park's trees by their silhouette, trunk, branches, twigs, buds and even by their leaves. You'll also learn how to use an identification key.
Do you know the emblem of Ontario?
Our interpreter will show you the wonders of trails 79, the Sugar Bush and the Lauriault Trail.
P5 (free), Visitor Center (free) and P6 (fee, but group drop-off possible).
2) Mackenzie Estate Tour(2h activity)
Come and relive the amazing story of Mr. William Mackenzie King, in his summer cottages in the heart of Gatineau Park. Two sites, two eras, all in one place. You'll also visit his majestic gardens and learn some of his well-kept secrets.
Parking P6 (fee required but group drop-off possible).
3) Trail 79 quiz (3h activity)
Explore Trail 79 as a group, equipped with compass, GPS and quiz, to find the answers to the special Friends of Gatineau Park nature quiz. This activity, lasting around three hours, will strengthen your team bonds by sharing your knowledge. On the menu: flora, fauna and history.
