snoswshoes under the strsA nighttime snowshoe hike on the trails of Gatineau Park. The moon and stars will be your guide. We'll end the activity with a well-deserved hot chocolate in a sugar shack on trail 60, or in the open air at the CCN fire on trail 72.
Reservations include snowshoe rentals, trail passes, tastings and, of course, your experienced interpreter-guide. |
the history of tracks Have you ever wondered whose footprints you see in the snow?
On this snowshoe walk you'll learn how to distinguish between footprints using the method developed by Mark Elbroch, a world-renowned specialist in this field. The activity is in two parts. The first, shorter, indoor part is theoretical. This allows you to apply what you've learnt directly to the second part, out on the trail. You'll never walk in the park the same way again. |
The secrets of winterA daytime snowshoe hike on the trails of Gatineau Park. Several trails are available, depending on difficulty. The theme of the hike is winter adaptation for the Park's flora and fauna.
What's included in my reservation: Snowshoe rental, trail pass and experienced interpreter. Selected trails: Trail 60 from the Visitor Center or trail 72 from P15. * If you would like a specific trail, please let us know when you reserve. |

Spring, summer and autumn activities
Visit of Mackenzie EstateRelive the story of a politician who left his mark on Canadian history.
You'll visit the cottages where he spent his summers. Here he led the country through the Second World War from a place steeped in history. His estate, bequeathed to the Canadian people, is located in the heart of Gatineau Park. |
Spring flowersFor a very short time before the leaves appear on the trees, magnificent flowers appear at the end of winter to mark the beginning of spring. They play a crucial role in the park's ecosystem. They come in all shapes and colors.
On the Lauriault Trail, your nature interpreter will show you how to identify them and reveal some of their extraordinary properties known to the First Nations. Let's reconnect with our forest. |
Nature QuizArmed with a GPS or your smartphone, alone or in a small group, you'll set off to explore the 79 path from P5. Along the way, you'll have to find the GPS coordinates indicated on the map given to you at the start of the activity and try to answer the 20 questions in this nature quiz by Les Amis du Parc de la Gatineau to earn your APG hiking certificate.
