Volunteer opportunities

ADOPT-A-TRAIL
​The park is packed with vastly diverse and wonderful trails whose maintenance relies on many actors. From mid-May to August (inclusively), you or your group can contribute by 'adopting' one of these trails. While walking your trail every two weeks to verify its condition, you will support the work done by park managers by reporting comments and observations. Encouraging walkers to stay on well-maintained official paths will enhance not only the visitor experience but also the protection of the unmarked terrain.

DISCOVERY AND INTERPRETATION ACTIVITIES
During one of our activities, an expert will usually make a presentation on a given topic at the Visitor Centre and will then lead the participants walk in the Park while providing comments. Volunteers must arrive 30 minutes before the event to help set up the room, to greet the participants, to verify the registrations, etc. They also help with the guided walk and ensure the participants' safety during the outing in the Park. BEES AND WORK GROUPS
Over the course of seasons, it may be necessary to refurbish the trails and park spaces. What better way than teamwork to get a big job done ? Join the fun and lend a helping hand in one of our friendly bees or work groups ! Contact us to know more.
PROMOTIONAL EVENTS
Share your enthusiasm by representing the Friends of Gatineau Park during various community activities or promotional events such as the Nature Festival, Heritage Day or Earth Day festivities, etc. Increase public awareness of our organization's mission and motivate people to join us ! 
COMMITTEES AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS
To fulfill its mission, our organisation divides itself into various committees overseen by a board of directors. Joining one of our committees will require about three hours of your time a month, maybe more depending on the commitment you choose to make. OFFICE WORK AND TRANSLATION
The Friends of the Park rely on a single employee to coordinate a wide and varied range of administrative tasks. Any and all support for office tasks (eg., committee support, data entry, mailouts, replies to calls and email messages, filing, etc.) or to translation in either of the official languages will always be useful and most appreciated !
