You will have the opportunity to learn the following:

Dress according to the weather. Some compasses will be provided but you may bring your own if you prefer. If you have a smartphone bring it - if you don’t already have the Avenza app, we can show you how to download it.
This activity is suitable for participants 12 and older.
- Understanding the legend and co-ordinates system on topographic maps
- Reading the landscape by using a map
- Using coordinates to locate points on a map
- Relationship between the map, compass and GPS
- How to install the free navigation app Avenza and Gatineau Park trail maps
