TRAIL GUIDE
In order to assist hikers find hiking trails, we are working on all-seasons detailed guide featuring pictures of all the hiking trails in Gatineau Park. We are always on the lookout for motivated hikers with notepad and camera at hand. THE HISTORICAL MEECH CREEK VALLEY
You perhaps know about the aristocratic history of Gatineau Park, but did you know that one of these valleys, almost uninhabited today, housed a community of farmers and woodcutters, an orphanage, and a school? The Friends are working towards imparting the rich history of those that helped shape the diverse landscape of the Meech Creek Valley. |
BOTANICAL FILES
In addition to the Trail Guide, the Friends are preparing informative files on the flora bordering the trails. Strange markings on bark, colorful flowers, edible or toxic plants, even a novice can gain a better understanding of where they are treading. RECIPES IN NATURE
